What to Expect Once You’ve Been Submitted to a Travel Contract

So your recruiter found you a travel contract with the location, shift, and pay package that you’ve been looking for, and you’ve just been submitted. Now what? Keep reading for an insight on what to expect once you’ve been submitted to a new travel contract!

First things first. What does it mean to be “submitted” to a contract?

Being submitted to a contract simply means that your recruiter is sending all of your information over to the facility you’re applying to. You don’t have to lift a finger!

#1- You play the waiting game

Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do between the time you’ve been submitted to a contract and hearing back regarding your application. This window of time can be anywhere between a few hours to over a week. It typically won’t take longer than this simply because after so many submissions, the job will go on ‘hold’.

**A job on hold simply means that the facility is reviewing the applications they currently have and are no longer accepting applicants.**

This is why it’s imperative to submit to a contract as soon as possible once the job is posted- they go quickly!

#2- Expect a call- or text- from your recruiter

If the facility is interested in you for the open position, they’ll reach out to your account manager, who then reaches out to your recruiter, who then will be in touch with you. They may tell you that the employer is interested in your application and would like to set up an interview. Good news- you’re in!

#3- Interview

Everyone’s favorite part of traveling- the excessive number of interviews. Unfortunately, that’s just a part of it! Think of it this way, the more you interview, the better at interviewing you’ll become! The facility will usually like to interview you ASAP once they’ve shown their interest, so it’s important to always be prepared! An interview for a travel assignment is typically a simple phone interview, but occasionally they may want to interview you via zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other form of video chat!

#4- Yes or No

Following your interview, you’ll wait some more. This decision may take anywhere from a few hours to a little over a week (depending on how many other travelers they’re interviewing). Your recruiter will let you know as soon as they hear about the outcome of your interview!

Hopefully you crushed your interview and you’re well on your way to your next big travel adventure!

It happens to all of us! – don’t fret and don’t waste your time being bummed out about it, there are more opportunities and other amazing contracts out there! You might just end up glad you weren’t accepted to this one!
